After years of trying to make the most of their garden, the clients admitted they were not green fingered and needed assistance with the design and construction of their outdoor space.
Our clients came to us seeking help to maximise their outdoor space. They knew that the current layout wasn’t making the most of the relatively small area they had and wanted some advice on planning the layout.
With the limited space available it was quite a challenge, but we spent time establishing the most efficient design, the best position for each element determined by sun direction or views from the house and worked with some restrictions such as a large tree stump and existing decking. Our clients wanted a large shed, BBQ area and outdoor seating along with planting to add some year round colour to the garden.
When the design was finalised we proceeded with the construction which again, was challenging as it was in the midst of the Covid pandemic when lockdowns and sourcing materials difficult to negotiate. We set about clearing the site then creating the shed base and erecting the shed as a starting point. Next we prepared the ground and laid the flags. Once that was done we could build the timber platers and seating.
The client repainted the decking and fencing and then lastly the plants were added ready for the garden to be enjoyed for the summer and beyond.
The result is a much more useable and attractive space for them to enjoy, making the most of the sunshine and opportunities to use their garden for entertaining.

They required a utility and WC accessed from the kitchen but struggled to visualise the layout and how they would achieve uninterrupted views of the garden.
